Can it be sprayed on the ground?

We put a geotextile fabric down to give us a consistent spray surface over the project.  We can not spray directly on the ground due to the high pressure sprayer and the inconsistency of the ground make up.

What types of surface can it be applied to?

Polyurea can be applied to virtually any surface.  Some surfaces require special preparation such as a primer or cleaning before the application process.  Here is a link to other applications where Polyurea has been applied.  Polyurea Applications (pdf format)

Is it safe? Toxic?

Polyurea is USDA approved for incidental food contact, and approved for potable water.  It's 100% solids (no solvents) meaning it gives off no VOC's (volatile organic compounds) during installation.

Can you repair a rubber pond liner with Polyurea?

Simple answer.. No.  We could line the whole surface but cost and adhesion properties make patches not a practical solution.

I want boulders in my pond, will they damage your liner?

Our Polyurea liner is very tough.  There is no problem with placing boulders and rocks on our liner.  If you are concerned about very big boulders, we can spray an area thicker to ensure liner integrity.  Here is a link to an article about Polyurea that includes pictures about a boulder that accidentally dropped onto a finished Polyurea liner. Do you warranty your spray on liner?

Under normal conditions we offer a 2 year warranty on the liner.  We expect our liner to last much longer and will be happy to resolve any issues to the best of our ability after the 2 year initial warranty.

Where are you located, how far will you travel?

We are located in Lakeville, Minnesota just outside the Twin Cities.  At the time of writing this we do not have any set travel distances.  We will consider all jobsite locations to determine if it is cost effective.

Can it be used for swimming pools?

Upscale Coatings does not install Polyurea for a pool that uses chlorine.  There are special considerations for chlorinated swimming pools and we are not installing  for chlorinated pools at this time.

What other possible applications are there?

Applications are only limited to your imagination.  Polyurea is not a new technology.  Using it for pond lining is still an emerging application of it.  Here is a link to a document listing some applications where Polyurea has been applied. List of potential applications (pdf format).

What colors does it come in?

We can get just about any color you request, but there may be some additional charges relating to switching colors.
